Check DM Link Performance
Review clicks, estimated visitors and activity over time for DM links created by Instagram and Facebook comment automation.
View opening activity for links sent by comment automation.
After sending a DM, link analytics can show whether its course outline, product page or booking page was opened through a tracked link. It does not show whether the DM was read or whether a purchase was completed.
Enable link tracking first
- In comment management, select your Instagram or Facebook account and the post.
- Open the post’s automatic-reply settings and enter the DM content, link URL and button label.
- Enable Enable link analytics in the statistics section, review the other reply settings and save.
Your plan must support this feature. If it cannot be enabled, check your entitlements. Tracking already attached to an automation may remain after a plan change; that does not mean you can create tracking for new URLs.
Enabling tracking does not backfill clicks on previously untracked URLs. To test it, use the link actually sent by this automation. Opening the original destination URL directly bypasses that tracking flow. Your own test may count as a click.
Open analytics from the post
Return to comment management and select the same account and post. When its automation has tracked links, a Link analytics button appears in the toolbar. Open it to view the panel.
If the button is missing, check the selected account, post, automation and tracking settings. A plain URL, unfinished setup or failure to load link data may leave the button unavailable. Its absence does not prove that nobody opened a URL.
Read the three summary metrics
| Metric | How to interpret it |
|---|---|
| Human Clicks | Recorded clicks after excluding identified bots. Repeat opens may add clicks; classification is not identity verification. |
| Estimated Unique Visitors | An estimate deduplicated using anonymous network identifiers, not an exact headcount. Shared or changing networks affect it. A dash means an estimate is unavailable, not zero visitors. |
| Latest Link Open | The latest recorded non-bot open, not the time a DM was sent or read. |
The summary covers cumulative data for the automation project. Selecting one link or changing the chart’s timeframe below does not filter these summary values.
Compare links and timeframes
Under Data source, choose all links or a particular link. Select 24H, 3D, 7D or 30D for the chart. The 24H view groups by hour; the others group by day. They include the current unfinished period, with dates displayed using the browser’s timezone.
All links lets you compare click activity across links. A single-link selection narrows the chart to that link. Country and device breakdowns below follow the selected scope. Countries are estimated from IP data, not precise locations. Do not fill in missing or unknown values by guessing.
Before comparing campaigns, align the timeframe and selected links, then consider the DM copy and campaign conditions. More clicks can inform your next adjustment, but do not establish more sales.
Missing data or a fresh reading
The panel loads when opened; it does not continuously refresh. After a test click, close and reopen it for new data.
If it still shows zero, verify that the received DM contains the tracked link from this setup and that you opened it rather than the original URL. Bot previews may be excluded from human clicks. If loading fails, reopen later. For persistent issues, send support the account, post, link and test time.
