Comment Management
Read comments on your posts, edit AI reply drafts and import commenters into a lead list.
Learn how to review post comments and configure automated replies and direct messages.
Select one of your own posts in Post Management to read comments, prepare replies or add commenters to a lead list. This page supports Threads, Instagram and Facebook. To find other people’s posts, use Topic Tracking.
Find the comments you want to handle
- Connect your social account and switch to the account you want to use.
- Open Post Management and select a post from the list. You can also search for a post.
- Scroll to the comments section. Switch between the thread and table views, and expand replies beneath a comment when available.
- If you see “Load More Replies”, load the next set before reviewing further. The comments currently displayed may not include every comment on the post.
Check the account and post before replying or importing. The post’s comment count can differ from the number loaded, so the count alone does not tell you whether you have handled everything.
Reply to one comment
Choose the manual reply action on the comment, write your response and send it. To start with AI-generated text, generate a reply, review and edit the draft, then send it. Draft generation may use credits. AI may also skip a comment it considers unsuitable for a reply.
For example, if someone asks whether a course suits complete beginners, answer the prerequisite question before adding course details. Check prices, dates and links before sending, and remove any promises you have not confirmed.
“Add Comment” creates a new comment on the post. To respond to a particular commenter, use that comment’s reply action. A generated draft has not been sent.
Threads: handle several comments
Select “Batch Reply” and choose a mode:
| Mode | What happens |
|---|---|
| Batch Generate | Enter reply instructions. AI prepares separate drafts for pending comments. Review and edit them before selecting “Send All”. |
| Unified Reply | Enter the reply text and, if needed, keyword conditions. Confirming executes the replies, so check the text and scope first. |
Batch processing excludes your own comments and comments the system recognizes as already answered. Those comments may still appear in the reading view. AI draft generation may also skip comments it does not recommend answering.
The Threads batch reply button is currently disabled when the post has more than 100 comments. This is a current interface limit; individual reply actions remain available.
If credits run out or some operations fail, check what completed before handling the remaining comments to avoid duplicate replies.
Instagram and Facebook: current replies or future automation
Open “Auto Reply & DM”. Choose any comment or comments containing specific keywords, then enter the public reply and any private message you need.
Before confirming, check which comments the operation will affect:
- Current comments only: use the action for replying to current comments and keep future auto replies off.
- Future comments only: enable automatic replies to future comments and leave the option to also reply to current matching comments unchecked.
- Both: enable both options and check the displayed number of current comments.
Once future auto replies are enabled, new matching comments are handled without individual approval. If you include a DM, check its text and links too. Available features depend on the account connection and plan.
On Threads, “Auto Reply” also configures ongoing handling of new comments. Use “Batch Generate” if you want to review drafts first.
Import commenters into a lead list
Your plan needs to support commenter imports.
- Select “List” in the current post’s comments section.
- Choose an existing lead list or create one, such as “New Product Leads”.
- Decide whether to include replies beneath comments, then start the import.
- Check the job’s status and results. Starting an import does not mean all commenters have been added.
- Once it finishes, open that list in the lead-list page to download a CSV if needed.
The import retrieves comment data separately; you do not need to expand every page of comments first. If it fails or completes only partly, review the results before retrying. Cancelling an import does not remove entries already added.
Hide or delete Instagram comments
Instagram comments offer hide, unhide and delete actions. Check the target before deleting: ViralArc has no action to restore a deleted comment. Consider hiding it if you only need to remove it from view temporarily.
These moderation actions are currently shown only for Instagram. This page does not provide the same buttons for Threads or Facebook.
When a reply does not complete
Check the account connection, available credits and any individual errors. If scheduled replies are present, check their status in the scheduled replies area. Scheduled is different from sent; use the send-now or cancel action there if needed.
For support, include the platform, account name, post link, time and error message. Keep the error details rather than repeatedly resending a comment to check whether it worked.
